ADMINISTRATION & SUPPORT STAFF
Support Staff including Administration, Business Office, Medical Records, Plant Operations, Materials Management, Housekeeping and the Advisory Board provide professional support to all entities of the Hospital.
AMBULANCE SERVICES
The Union County Ambulance Service is staffed by Paramedics & EMT's and is based at Methodist Hospital Union County. Averaging over 1300 runs per year, this EMS staff receives high marks during state inspections and are rated as one of the most efficient and professional services in the state.
CARDIOPULMONARY SERVICES
Scope of services include patient assessments, breathing therapy, pulmonary function testing, Bio-Z, EEG's, EKG'S, ventilator management and patient education. Services Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
CASE MANAGEMENT/SOCIAL SERVICES
Our Case Management Staff is dedicated to reviewing each patient to coordinate within the hospital, as well as any outside resources to ensure the patient receives the best care possible while in the hospital and at home.
COU (CLOSE OBSERVATION UNIT)
The Close Observation Unit is equipped with full bedside monitoring to accommodate cardiac, intensive care, and/or ventilator dependent patients. The nurse to patient ratio is one to one which enables us to provide the highest level quality of care.
DIETARY
Our Dietary department takes pride in serving appetizing, nutritious meals to patients, employees and visitors. Dietary also provides meals and snacks for all special functions at the hospital.
EMERGENCY ROOM
Our Emergency Room is staffed with experienced Emergency Room physicians & professional dedicated ER Nurses available 24 hours a day. The ER Nursing staff maintain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. We also have those certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Basic Trauma Life Support.
EMPLOYEE HEALTH - INFECTION CONTROL
Our Employee Health Nurse is certified in Infection Control and through this special training and continuous education she is able to provide a valuable service to our hospital and to our community.
EXTENDED CARE FACILITY
Our Extended Care Facility provides quality Nursing care at all times, with special emphasis on care for the elderly. A physical environment that is safe, comfortable and pleasant is provided for each of our residents. Restorative services such as Physical, Occupational and Speech therapy are provided as needed to rehabilitate the resident to the highest level possible.
LABORATORY
Our Laboratory is staffed daily with services available around the clock. Our Medical Technologist (MT) and Medical Lab Technicians (MLT's) perform the various diagnostic tests on blood and body fluids which help the physician make his/her diagnosis. Our Lab is accredited by the JCAHO and scored a 98% on their last two surveys.
The Foundation works in partnership with Methodist Hospital Union County to raise funds for the hospital. Tax deductible donations through honorary, memorial or annual planned gifts help provide a higher level of equipment and services than would otherwise be possible. NURSING SERVICES - ACUTE CARE
The Nursing Staff at MHUC is comprised of highly trained and sincere individuals that are truly dedicated to providing quality, skilled nursing care to the people of our community. They devote much of their time to continuing education, which enable them to keep skills and knowledge up to date. All nursing staff maintain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. We also have those certified in Medical/Surgical Nursing.
PHARMACY
Our Pharmacy provides a broad based health-care delivery system of pharmaceutical service. The Pharmacy staff focus on compassionate, cost-effective service and assure that the patients of the hospital receive ultimate quality and safety in drug therapy.
RADIOLOGY
Our Radiology Deparatment includes Radiology, CT (Computerized Tomography) Ultrasound and Mammography, all of which are diagnostic modalities that allow us to diagnosis many diseases and abnormalities. Breast cancer can be detected long before the patient can even feel it. Our new state-of-the-art Spiral CT Scanner will enable us to peform these and many other studies and in only a fraction of the time previously required.
REHABILITATIVE SERVICES
Our Professional staff is responsible and dedicated to providing good, quality care and management of patients in four main areas within and outside the hospital. 1) Extended Care Facility 2) Acute Care Patients 3) The outpatient department to include Orthopedics, Neurologic, Geriatric, Sports Medicine, Work Injuries, Vestibular and Wound/Burn Care patients, and 4) Home Health patients within Union County.
SURGICAL SERVICES
Our Surgical Department offers a variety of services from endoscopies and major abdominal surgery to the latest in laparoscopic procedures. Surgery, combined with Radiology, provides the patient with less invasive surgical procedures. Our staff includes highly qualified, caring individuals that follow the patient throughout the entire surgical experience. Opthomology - Cataract Surgery is now available at MHUC on the first Tuesday of the month. Appointments for this servie can be made by calling 1-800-342-5398.
VOLUNTEER SERVICES
Volunteer Services, including Auxiliary Services and the Pastoral Care Committee, provide our hospital with helping hands, smiling hearts and Spirital care. Anyone wishing to volunteer is welcome to call our Administration office for details.
